§590.413. Form of official identification symbol and inspection mark. — Inbound Citations

(b) Containers, portable tanks, and bulk shipments of edible egg products produced in official plants must be labeled in accordance with §§ 590.411 through 590.415 and must bear the official identification shown in Figure 1 of § 590.413.

(5) An official inspection symbol and the number of the official plant in which the product was processed under inspection as set forth in § 590.413;

All unpasteurized or microbial pathogen-positive egg products shipped from an official plant must be marked with the identification set forth in Figure 1 of this section. Such product must meet all requirements for egg products that are permitted to bear the official inspection mark shown in § 590.413, except for pasteurization, heat treatment, or other method of treatment sufficient to produce egg products that are edible without additional preparation to achieve food safety. Such product must not be released into consumer channels until it has been subjected to pasteurization, heat treatment, or other method of treatment sufficient to produce egg products that are edible without additional preparation to achieve food safety.
