§520.1696a. Penicillin G powder.

Specifications. Each gram of powder contains penicillin G potassium equivalent to 1.54 million units of penicillin G.

Related tolerances. See § 556.510 of this chapter.
Conditions of use in turkeys—
Amount. 1,500,000 units per gallon drinking water for 5 days.
Indications for use. Treatment of erysipelas caused by Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae.
Limitations. Discontinue treatment at least 1 day prior to slaughter. Not for use in turkeys producing eggs for human consumption. Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
