123. Report on Mexican drug cartels

added Not later than 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, Congress shall commission a report that contains the following:

(a)

removed In general— Not later than 60 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security, in coordination with the Secretary of State, shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report on whether a Mexican drug cartel described in paragraph (2) meets the criteria for designation as a foreign terrorist organization.
(2)
removed Mexican drug cartels described— The Mexican drug cartels described in this paragraph include the following:
(A)
removed Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
(B)
removed Sinaloa Cartel.
(C)
removed Juarez Cartel.
(D)
removed Tijuana Cartel.
(E)
removed Gulf Cartel.
(F)
removed Los Zetas.
(G)
removed Las Moicas.

changed Definitions— In this section:A national strategy to address Mexican drug cartels, and a determination regarding whether there should be a designation established to address such cartels.
