§228.1. Scope.
49 C.F.R. § 228.1
This part—
Prescribes reporting and recordkeeping requirements with respect to the hours of service of certain railroad employees and certain employees of railroad contractors and subcontractors;
Establishes standards and procedures concerning the construction or reconstruction of sleeping quarters;
Establishes minimum safety and health standards for camp cars provided by a railroad as sleeping quarters for its employees and individuals employed to maintain its rights of way; and
Prescribes substantive hours of service requirements for train employees engaged in commuter or intercity rail passenger transportation.
