§647.207-7. Liability and insurance.

The Procurement Executive has approved a class deviation for paragraph (c) of FAR clause 52.247-23, Contractor Liability for Loss of and/or Damage to Household Goods. The contracting officer shall indicate that the contractor shall indemnify the owner of the goods at a rate of $5.00 per pound (or metric equivalent in local currency) based on the total net weight. The rate conforms with liability calculations found in International Through Government Bills of Lading (ITGBL).
