§1.7007. Establishing the Fabric.
47 C.F.R. § 1.7007
The Commission shall create the Fabric, a common dataset of all locations in the United States where fixed broadband internet access service can be installed. The Fabric shall:
Contain geocoded information for each location where fixed broadband internet access service can be installed;
Serve as the foundation upon which all data relating to the availability of fixed broadband internet access service collected pursuant to the Broadband Data Collection shall be overlaid;
Be compatible with commonly used Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software; and
Be updated every 6 months by the Commission.
The Commission shall prioritize implementing the Fabric for rural and insular areas of the United States.
