§0.503. Submission of requests for mandatory declassification review.

Requests for mandatory review of national security information shall be in writing, addressed to the Managing Director, and reasonably describe the information sought with sufficient particularity to enable Commission personnel to identify the documents containing that information and be reasonable in scope.
When the request is for information originally classified by the Commission, the Managing Director shall assign the request to the appropriate bureau or office for action.
Requests related to information, either derivatively classified by the Commission or originally classified by another agency, shall be forwarded, together with a copy of the record, to the originating agency. The transmittal may contain a recommendation for action.
