§45.177. Freeboard requirements.
46 C.F.R. § 45.177
All barges must have a minimum freeboard of 24 inches (610 mm).
Additionally, open hopper barges must have a combined freeboard plus cargo box coaming height of at least 54 inches (1,372 mm).
