§160.276-17. Marking and labeling.

Each inflatable PFD must be marked as specified in Figure 6DV of ANSI/CAN/UL 12402-5 (incorporated by reference, see § 160.276-5).
In addition to the information required by ANSI/CAN/UL 12402-5, Figure 6DV, each Level 50 inflatable PFD must be marked with a statement that the device must be worn to be counted as equipment required by vessels meeting USCG regulations; and
The Commandant may prescribe additional marking requirements for special purpose devices or unique or novel designs.
