(A) The hospital performs the basic functions specified in §§ 482.21 through 482.27, 482.30, 482.42, 482.43, and 482.45 of this chapter through the use of employees or under contracts or other agreements with entities other than the hospital occupying space in the same building or on the same campus, or a third entity that controls both hospitals. Food and dietetic services and housekeeping, maintenance, and other services necessary to maintain a clean and safe physical environment could be obtained under contracts or other agreements with the hospital occupying space in the same building or on the same campus, or with a third entity that controls both hospitals.

(iv) The hospital must use findings from its QAPI program, as required at § 482.21, to inform staff training needs and any additions, revisions, or updates to training topics on an ongoing basis.

(2) There must be adequate provisions and protocols, consistent with nationally recognized and evidence-based guidelines, for obstetrical emergencies, complications, immediate post-delivery care, and other patient health and safety events as identified as part of the QAPI program (§ 482.21). Provisions include equipment (in addition to the equipment required under paragraph (b)(1) of this section), supplies, and medication used in treating emergency cases. Such provisions must be kept in the hospital and be readily available for treating emergency cases.

(b) Meet the conditions of participation specified in §§ 482.1 through 482.23 and §§ 482.25 through 482.57;

(b) In addition to meeting the conditions of participation specified in §§ 482.72 through 482.104, a transplant program must also meet the conditions of participation in §§ 482.1 through 482.57, except for § 482.15.
