§60.6420. What types of operator certification must the chief facility operator and shift supervisor obtain and by when must they obtain it?
40 C.F.R. § 60.6420
Each chief facility operator and shift supervisor must obtain and keep a current provisional operator certification from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (QRO-1-2005) (incorporated by reference in § 60.17 of subpart A of this part) or a current provisional operator certification from your state certification program by the later of two dates:
Six months after the municipal waste combustor starts up.
Six months after they transfer to the municipal waste combustor or 6 months after they are hired to work at the municipal waste combustor.
Each chief facility operator and shift supervisor must obtain and maintain a provisional certification, and must complete the full certification or be scheduled to take the full certification exam, by the later of two dates:
Six months after the municipal waste combustor starts up.
For a provisionally certified operator who is newly promoted or recently transferred to a shift supervisor position or a chief facility operator position, a full certification exam must be completed within six months after they transfer to the municipal waste combustor or 6 months after they are hired to work at the municipal waste combustor.
Each chief facility operator and shift supervisor must take one of three actions:
Obtain and maintain a current provisional operator certification from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers or a state certification program in your state.
Schedule a full certification exam with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (QRO-1-2005) (incorporated by reference in § 60.17 of subpart A of this part).
Schedule a full certification exam with your state certification program.
