§60.270a. Applicability and designation of affected facility.

The provisions of this subpart are applicable to the following affected facilities in steel plants that produce carbon, alloy, or specialty steels: electric arc furnaces, argon-oxygen decarburization vessels, and dust-handling systems.

The provisions of this subpart apply to each affected facility identified in paragraph (a) of this section that commences construction, modification, or reconstruction after August 17, 1983 and on or before May 16, 2022, where a modification is any physical change in, or change in the method of operation of, an existing facility which increases the amount of any air pollutant (to which this standard applies) emitted into the atmosphere by that facility or which results in the emission of any air pollutant (to which this standard applies) into the atmosphere not previously emitted.
