§3.59. Parent. — Inbound Citations

(3) is as defined in § 3.59: Provided, That the mother or father was dependent within the meaning of § 3.250 at the date of the veteran's death.

(3) His or her dependent parents (in equal shares) as defined in § 3.59 or the surviving parent, provided that the parent was dependent within the meaning of § 3.250 at the date of the veteran's death.

The following definitions apply to this part:

(3) The veteran's dependent parents (in equal shares) or surviving parent, as defined by § 3.59 of this chapter, provided that the parents were or parent was dependent within the meaning of § 3.250 of this chapter on the date of the veteran's death.

(e) The term dependent means a spouse, child or dependent parent who meets the definition of relationship specified in § 3.50, § 3.57 or § 3.59 of this chapter.

(o) Parent—means a person whose relationship to the participant meets the requirements of § 3.59 of this chapter.

(iii) A parent who meets the requirements of § 3.59 of this chapter.
