§75.251. Budget periods.

The Secretary usually approves a budget period of not more than 12 months, even if the project has a multi-year project period.
If the Secretary approves a multi-year project period, the Secretary:
Makes a grant to the project for the initial budget period; and
Indicates his or her intention to make contination awards to fund the remainder of the project period.
If the Secretary funds a multi-year data collection period, the Secretary may fund the data collection period through separate budget periods and fund those budget periods in the same manner as those periods are funded during the project period.
