§187.203. What are the voluntary provisions for a participating State?
33 C.F.R. § 187.203
A participating State may—
Provide VIS with the optional information listed in subpart B of this part;
Make available to VIS updated information provided by the vessel owner, government agency, or secured party about a vessel that has been moved to a non-participating State of principal operation; and
Interact with non-participating States to make information available to, or request information from, VIS concerning a vessel or nationwide statistics.
