§585.101. What is the purpose of this part?
30 C.F.R. § 585.101
The purpose of this part is to:
Establish procedures for issuance and administration of leases, right-of-way (ROW) grants, and right-of-use and easement (RUE) grants for renewable energy production on the OCS;
Inform you and third parties of your obligations when you undertake activities authorized in this part; and
Ensure that renewable energy activities on the OCS are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner, in conformance with the requirements of subsection 8(p) of the OCS Lands Act, other applicable laws and regulations, and the terms of your lease, ROW grant, or RUE grant.
This part will not convey access rights for oil, gas, or other minerals.
