§520.1425. Metronidazole.

(a)

Specifications. Each milliliter of suspension contains 125 milligrams (mg) metronidazole.

(b)

Sponsor. See No. 051311 in § 510.600(c) of this chapter.

(c)

Conditions of use—

(1)

Amount. Administer 25 mg per kilogram (11.3 mg per pound) of body weight twice daily for 5 consecutive days.

(2)

Indications for use. For the treatment of Giardia duodenalis infection in dogs.

(3)

Limitations. Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
