§998.40. Purpose.

This subpart—
Establishes policy and implements 33 U.S.C. 3071(a)(8), (a)(13), (b), and (c) to provide protection against reprisal to NOAA Corps officers for making or preparing or being perceived as making or preparing a protected communication.
Assigns responsibilities and delegates authority for such protection against reprisal and prescribes procedures.
