§1708.100. Authority to conduct safety investigations.

The Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (Board) is an independent federal agency in the executive branch of the United States Government.
The Board's enabling legislation authorizes it to conduct safety investigations pursuant to the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (42 U.S.C. 2286a(b)(2)).
