reaffirms its bipartisan commitment to preserving and protecting the Social Security program for current and future generations;
affirms that an automatic, across-the-board cut in benefits would disrupt the retirement security of tens of millions of people in the United States and must be avoided; and
calls upon Members of Congress to work in a bipartisan manner to develop and enact legislation that ensures the long-term solvency of the Social Security program and protects seniors, individuals with disabilities, and families in the United States for generations to come.
