Cyber Conspiracy Modernization Act

A BILL

To amend section 1030 of title 18, United States Code, to include conspiracy in the offenses and penalties relating to computer fraud.

This Act may be cited as the “Cyber Conspiracy Modernization Act”.

Section 1030(c) of title 18, United States Code, is amended—

(1)

by inserting “or a conspiracy” after “an attempt” each place it appears; and

(2)

in paragraph (4)—

(A)

in subparagraph (A)(i), in the matter preceding subclause (I), by striking “attempted” and inserting “attempt or a conspiracy to commit an”;

(B)

in subparagraph (B)(i), by striking “attempted” and inserting “attempt or a conspiracy to commit an”;

(C)

in subparagraph (E), by inserting “, conspires to cause, ” after “attempts to cause”; and

(D)

in subparagraph (F), by inserting “, conspires to cause, ” after “attempts to cause”.
