Protect Vulnerable Immigrant Youth Act

A BILL

To eliminate employment-based visa caps for abused, abandoned, and neglected children who are classified as special immigrant juveniles, and for other purposes.

Section 1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the “Protect Vulnerable Immigrant Youth Act”.

Sec. 2 Eliminating certain employment-based visa caps for special immigrant juveniles

(a)
Aliens not subject to direct numerical limitations— Section 201(b)(1)(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1151(b)(1)(A)) is amended by striking “subparagraph (A) or (B)” and inserting “subparagraph (A), (B), or (J)”.
(b)
Preference allocation for employment-Based immigrants— Section 203(b)(4) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1153(b)(4)) is amended by striking “subparagraph (A) or (B) thereof” and inserting “subparagraph (A), (B), or (J) of such section”.
