Protect Liberty and End Warrantless Surveillance Act of 2026
A BILL
To amend the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 to implement reforms, to amend title 18, United States Code, to prevent law enforcement and intelligence agencies from obtaining certain commercially available information, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Amendments to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978
References to Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978— Except as otherwise expressly provided, whenever in this Act an amendment or repeal is expressed in terms of an amendment to, or a repeal of, a section or other provision, the reference shall be considered to be made to a section or other provision of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (50 U.S.C. 1801 et seq.).
Effect of Certain Amendments on Conforming Changes to Tables of Contents— When an amendment made by this Act adds a section or larger organizational unit to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (50 U.S.C. 1801 et seq.), repeals or transfers a section or larger organizational unit in such Act, or amends the designation or heading of a section or larger organizational unit in such Act, that amendment also shall have the effect of amending the table of contents in such Act to alter the table to conform to the changes made by the amendment.
