Make Congress Drive Union-Made Act
A BILL
To prohibit the use of funds available to Representatives and Senators with respect to official expenses to purchase or lease a motor vehicle unless the motor vehicle is manufactured in the United States by unionized workers.
Sec. 2 Representational allowance for Members of House of Representatives
“(c) Restrictions on motor vehicles—The funds from the Members’ Representational Allowance may not be used to purchase or lease a motor vehicle unless the motor vehicle—
“(1) has a final assembly place (as such term is defined in section 32304 of title 49, United States Code) in the United States; and
“(2) is assembled by employees who are covered by a collective bargaining agreement.”
Sec. 3 Senators’ Official Personnel and Office Expense Accounts
“(7) Effective on and after October 1, 2026, the funds from the Senators’ Account may not be used to purchase or lease a motor vehicle unless the motor vehicle—
“(A) has a final assembly place (as such term is defined in section 32304 of title 49, United States Code) in the United States; and
“(B) is assembled by employees who are covered by a collective bargaining agreement.”
