The Disaster Recovery Efficiency Act

A BILL

To require the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to implement certain recommendations made by the Comptroller General with respect to disaster recovery, and for other purposes.

Section 1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the “The Disaster Recovery Efficiency Act”.

Sec. 2 Implementation of GAO recommendations

The Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development shall take such actions as may be necessary to implement the priority recommendations of the Comptroller General of the United States contained in the report published on November 15, 2022, and titled “Disaster Recovery: Actions Needed to Improve the Federal Approach” (GAO–23–104956).
