Improving MA SNP Act of 2026
A BILL
To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to permit additional accrediting organizations to approve specialized MA plans for special needs individuals.
Sec. 2 Accreditation of specialized MA plans for special needs individuals
Section 1859(f)(7) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395w–28(f)(7)) is amended—
in the heading, by striking “NCQA approved” and inserting “approved by an accrediting organization”;
by inserting “, based on standards established by the Secretary,” after “approved”; and
by striking “(based on standards established by the Secretary)” and inserting “or, for 2026 and subsequent years, by any other private accrediting organization with an application approved under section 1852(e)(4)(C) determined appropriate by the Secretary”.
