SNAP Study Act of 2025
A BILL
To require the Secretary of Agriculture to submit an annual report to Congress on the state of food security and diet quality in the United States, including the impact of changes to the supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP), and to provide policy recommendations for improving nutrition outcomes for both participants and nonparticipants.
Sec. 2 Food security and diet quality report
“32. Food security and diet quality report
“(a) In general—Not later than 1 year after the effective date of this section, and annually thereafter, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry of the Senate and the Committee on Agriculture of the House of Representatives a report on food security and diet quality in the United States.
“(b) Contents—The report required to be submitted under subsection (a) shall include—
“(1) an analysis of the food security and diet quality of participants and nonparticipants in the supplemental nutrition assistance program;
“(2)
“(A) a summary of legislative and Executive branch changes made to the supplemental nutrition assistance program in the year covered by the report that are intended to improve food security and diet quality; and
“(B) an analysis of the impact and effectiveness of those changes on food security and diet quality; and
“(3) recommendations to the Congress on how to improve food security and diet quality for participants and nonparticipants in the supplemental nutrition assistance program.”
