Integrating Social Workers Across Health Care Settings Act

A BILL

To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to revise the definition of the term clinical social worker services.

This Act may be cited as the “Integrating Social Workers Across Health Care Settings Act”.

(a)

In general— Section 1861(hh)(2) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395x(hh)(2)) is amended—

(1)

by inserting “(and services and supplies furnished as an incident to such services)” before “performed by”; and

(2)

by striking “for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses”.

(b)

Effective date— The amendments made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to services furnished on or after December 1, 2025.
