This Act may be cited as the “Firearms Congressional Notification Modernization Act”.
Firearms Congressional Notification Modernization Act
A BILL
To amend the Arms Export Control Act to increase the threshold triggering certain notification requirements with respect to licenses for the exportation of firearms.
Sec. 2 Modification to notice requirement
Section 36 of the Arms Export Control Act (22 U.S.C. 2776) is amended—
in subsection (a), by inserting “(or, in the case of a defense article that is a firearm controlled under category I of the United States Munitions List, $4,000,000 or more)” after “$1,000,000 or more” each place it appears; and
in subsection (c), by striking “$1,000,000” and inserting “$4,000,000”.
