Section 1 Short title
This Act may be cited as the “No Iranian Energy Act”.
No Iranian Energy Act
A BILL
To provide for the imposition of sanctions with respect to the importation of natural gas from Iran by the Government of Iraq.
Sec. 2 Sense of Congress
It is the sense of Congress that the United States should target Iran’s emerging gas industry for the imposition of sanctions.
Sec. 3 Prohibition on Iranian natural gas
The Iran Freedom and Counter-Proliferation Act of 20212 is amended as follows:
In section 1244 (22 U.S.C. 8803) by amending subsection (h) to read as follows:
“(h) Applicability of sanctions to natural gas—Except as provided in section 1254, this section shall apply to the sale, supply, or transfer to or from Iran of natural gas.”
In section 1247 (22 U.S.C. 8806) by amending subsection (e) to read as follows:
“(e) Applicability of sanctions to natural gas—Except as provided in section 1254, this section shall apply to the sale, supply, or transfer to or from Iran of natural gas.”
