A BILL
To amend the Public Health Service Act to authorize the use of Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grants to purchase life-saving opioid antagonists for schools and to provide related training and education to students and teachers, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Use of preventive health and health services block grants to purchase life-saving opioid antagonists for schools and to provide related training and education to students and teachers
Section 1904(a)(1) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 300w–3(a)(1)) is amended—
by redesignating subparagraphs (F) and (G) as (I) and (J), respectively;
By inserting after subparagraph (E) the following:
“(F) Purchasing naloxone or other opioid antagonists for use in educational institutions.
“(G) Providing training to school nurses, teachers, school administrators, and school resource officers on how to administer naloxone or other opioid antagonists.
“(H) Providing fentanyl awareness classes or materials to students.”
in each of subparagraphs (I) and (J), as redesignated by paragraph (1), by striking “(A) through (F)” and inserting “(A) through (H)”.
