No Early Release for Carjackers Act of 2023
A BILL
To amend section 3624 of title 18, United States Code, to require carjackers to serve their prison sentences.
Sec. 2 Early release exceptions
Section 3624(b)(1) of title 18, United States Code, is amended—
by striking “year” and inserting “year,”; and
by adding at the end the following:
“(5) A prisoner may not receive credit toward service of the prisoner’s sentence for a crime under section 2119, relating to taking a motor vehicle (commonly referred to as “carjacking”).”
Sec. 3 Applicability
This Act and the amendments made by this Act shall apply with respect to each prisoner in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons on or after the date of enactment of this Act.
