Section 1 Short title
This Act may be cited as the “Reducing Environmental Gamesmanship Act” or the “REG Act”.
Reducing Environmental Gamesmanship Act
A BILL
To prohibit Federal agencies from implementing environmental justice standards when issuing rules, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Limitation on agency rule making
Definitions— In this section, the terms agency and rule have the meanings given those terms in section 551 of title 5, United States Code.
Prohibition— In issuing a rule, or otherwise administering a duly enacted law of the United States, an agency may not consider environmental justice unless the agency is required to do so by law.
Sec. 3 Repeal of Executive Orders
Effective beginning on the date of enactment of this Act, the following Executive orders shall have no force or effect:
Executive Order 12898 (42 U.S.C. 4321 note; relating to Federal actions to address environmental justice in minority populations and low-income populations).
Executive Order 14096 (42 U.S.C. 4321 note; relating to revitalizing our Nation's commitment to environmental justice for all).
Executive Order 14008 (42 U.S.C. 4321 note; relating to tackling the climate crisis at home and abroad).
