This Act may be cited as the “CFIUS State's Right to Know Act of 2024”.

A BILL
To require the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States to respond to the Governor of a State who requests a determination with respect to whether a transaction would trigger a review by the Committee.
Sec. 2 Requests from Governors to Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States relating to transactions
Section 721(b) of the Defense Production Act of 1950 (50 U.S.C. 4565(b)) is amended by adding at the end the following:
“(9) Requests from governors—If the Governor of a State submits to the Committee a request with respect to whether a transaction is a covered transaction, the Committee shall, not later than 30 days after receiving the request—
“(A) determine if the transaction is a covered transaction; and
“(B) inform the Governor of the determination.”
