Section 1 Short title
This Act may be cited as the “Clean Drinking Water for Rural Communities Act of 2023”.
A BILL
To amend the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act to modify the definitions of the terms rural and rural area for purposes of grants and loans to remedy a lack of compliance with certain drinking water standards, and for other purposes.
“(i) In general—Except as provided in clause (ii), for the purpose”
“(ii) Projects for compliance—For the purpose of grants and loans described in clause (i) to be used for projects to remedy a lack of compliance with enforceable Federal or State drinking water standards, the terms “rural” and “rural area” mean a city, town, or unincorporated area that has a population of not more than 20,000 inhabitants.”
