Stop Computer Crimes Proliferation Act of 2023

A BILL

To amend the Computer Crime Enforcement Act to reauthorize the State grant program for training and prosecution of computer crimes, and for other purposes.

Section 1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the “Stop Computer Crimes Proliferation Act of 2023”.

Sec. 2 Reauthorization

Section 2 of the Computer Crime Enforcement Act (34 U.S.C. 30101) is amended—
(1)
in subsection (e)(1), by striking “fiscal years 2009 through 2013” and inserting “fiscal years 2024 through 2027”; and
(2)
by adding at the end the following:

“(g) Report to Congress—Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of the Stop Computer Crimes Proliferation Act of 2023, and annually thereafter, the Attorney General shall submit to Congress a report on the overall performance of the grant program established under this section that includes—

“(1) the number of entities funded by a grant;

“(2) how funds from a grant are used by each entity receiving the grant; and

“(3) the number of entities that apply for and do not receive a grant under this section.”
