Section 1 Short title
This Act may be cited as the “Farm Board Act of 2023”.

A BILL
To amend the Federal Crop Insurance Act to require certain membership on the Board of Directors of the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation.
Sec. 2 Board of Directors composition
In general— Section 505(a)(2)(G) of the Federal Crop Insurance Act (7 U.S.C. 1505(a)(2)(G)) is amended by striking “including at least one specialty crop producer.” and inserting the following:
“(i) 1 specialty crop producer;
“(ii) 1 producer that actively engages in livestock production and crop production of agricultural commodities; and
“(iii) 1 underserved producer (as defined in section 508(a)(7)(A)).”
Application— The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to appointments to the Board of Directors of the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation under section 505(a)(2)(G) of the Federal Crop Insurance Act (7 U.S.C. 1505(a)(2)(G)) that are—
made on or after the date of enactment of this Act; and
for a period of service beginning on or after October 1, 2024; or
made for the purpose of the October 1, 2024, Board of Directors election (or a subsequent Board of Directors election).
