This Act may be cited as the “Dependable Classification of Airports Act”.
Dependable Classification of Airports Act
A BILL
To amend title 49, United States Code, to allow the owner or operator of a small hub airport that is reclassified as a medium hub airport to elect to be treated as a small hub airport, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Treatment of airports reclassified from small to medium hub airports
In general— Chapter 471 of title 49, United States Code, is amended by inserting after section 47131 the following:
“47132. Treatment of airports reclassified from small to medium hub airports
“With respect to the application of law and regulation, the owner or operator of a small hub airport that, in fiscal year 2021 or any succeeding fiscal year, is designated as a medium hub airport, may elect to be treated as a small hub airport for any period of up to 5 consecutive fiscal years, beginning with the fiscal year in which the small hub airport is to be designated as a medium hub airport.”
Clerical amendment— The analysis for chapter 471 of title 49, United States Code, is amended by inserting after the item relating to section 47131 the following:
