To direct the Secretary of the Army to provide a briefing to Congress on the efforts of the Army to field passive multi-static radar detection technology for mobile counter-UAS systems, and for other purposes.

A BILL

Section 1 Briefing on passive multi-static radar detection efforts

(a)
In general— Not later than February 1, 2025, the Secretary of the Army shall provide to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives a briefing on the efforts of the Army to field passive multi-static radar detection technology for mobile counter-UAS systems.
(b)
Elements— The briefing under subsection (a) shall address—
(1)
the plan of the Army to incorporate passive multi-static radar technology into its existing counter-UAS system and base defense architecture;
(2)
efforts within the Army to integrate passive multi-static radar technology into integrated counter-UAS systems;
(3)
an assessment of any capability gaps in threat detection technology and threat defeat systems; and
(4)
any research, development, test, and evaluation activities that are being conduced, or that are planned to be conducted, with respect to passive multi-static radar detection.
(c)
Definition— In this section, the term counter-UAS system has the meaning given that term in section 44801 of title 49, United States Code.
