This Act may be cited as the “Youth Suicide Prevention Research Act”.
Youth Suicide Prevention Research Act
A BILL
To amend the Advancing Research to Prevent Suicide Act to expand the areas of focus regarding childhood suicide, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 NSF research regarding childhood suicide
Subsection (a) of section 3 of the Advancing Research to Prevent Suicide Act is amended—
in paragraph (4), by striking “and” after the semicolon;
by redesignating paragraph (5) as paragraph (7); and
by inserting after paragraph (4) the following new paragraphs:
“(5) basic understanding of the role of adverse childhood experiences;
“(6) basic understanding of the role of toxic stress in childhood; and”
