To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to modify certain asset recovery rules.

Section 1917(b)(1)(A) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1396p(b)(1)(A)) is amended by inserting “unless, at the option of the State, after the death of the individual the home of such individual is transferred to another individual who is eligible for medical assistance under this title or has an income below 138 percent of the Federal poverty level” after “paid on behalf of the individual”.
