Bullets Not Batteries Act
A BILL
To amend the Defense Production Act of 1950 to prohibit the use of the authorities under title I and title III of such Act for electric vehicles or related technologies.
Sec. 2 Prohibition on the use of authorities for electric vehicles and related technology
Section 104 of the Defense Production Act of 1950 (50 U.S.C. 4514) is amended by adding at the end the following:
“(c) Electric vehicles and related technology—The authorities provided under this title and title III may not be used with respect to—
“(1) electric vehicles;
“(2) electric vehicle batteries;
“(3) electric vehicle charging stations or other electric vehicle infrastructure; or
“(4) obtaining critical minerals that will be used for the manufacturing of any item described under paragraph (1), (2), or (3).”
