Protect Families from Toxic Algal Blooms Act
A BILL
To amend the Water Resources Development Act of 2020 to permit the sale of technologies to certain water and irrigation districts to expedite the removal of harmful algal blooms, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Harmful algal bloom technologies
Section 128 of the Water Resources Development Act of 2020 (33 U.S.C. 610 note) is amended—
by redesignating subsection (e) as subsection (f); and
by inserting after subsection (d) the following:
“(e) Harmful algal bloom technologies—In carrying out the demonstration program under subsection (a), the Secretary may enter into agreements with water and irrigation districts located in the focus areas described in subsections (c) and (d) for the use or sale of any new technologies developed under the program to expedite the removal of harmful algal blooms in such areas.”
