A BILL

To require the Secretary of Energy to withdraw a proposed rule relating to energy conservation standards for consumer water heaters.

Section 1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the “Hot Showers Act”.

Sec. 2 Withdrawal of proposed rule

The Secretary of Energy—

(1)

shall withdraw the proposed rule titled “Energy Conservation Program: Energy Conservation Standards for Consumer Water Heaters” (88 Fed. Reg. 49058 (July 28, 2023)); and

(2)

may not take any action to finalize, implement, or enforce the proposed rule described in paragraph (1) or any substantially similar rule.
