Section 1 Short title
This Act may cited as the “Strategic Petroleum Reserve Security Assessment Act” or the “SPR Security Assessment Act”.
Strategic Petroleum Reserve Security Assessment Act
A BILL
To amend the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to direct the Secretary of Energy to submit to Congress a report containing an assessment of any physical or cybersecurity incidents to a storage facility or a related facility of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
Sec. 2 Annual incident assessment
Section 161 of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (42 U.S.C. 6241) is amended by adding at the end the following:
“(k) Annual incident assessment
“(1) In general—Not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this subsection, and every year thereafter, the Secretary shall submit to Congress a report containing an assessment of any physical or cybersecurity incidents to a storage facility or a related facility of the Reserve.
“(2) Requirements—The assessment required under paragraph (1) shall include the following:
“(A) The dates of each physical or cybersecurity incident that occurred.
“(B) The resolution of such physical or cybersecurity incident.
“(C) The local, State, and Federal agencies that assisted in mitigating such physical or cybersecurity incident.
“(D) Any other information the Secretary determines necessary.”
