This Act may be cited as the “Rail Inspector Safety Act of 2023”.

A BILL
To require certain State departments of transportation to notify first responders of AskRail application, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Additional investigators
In addition to the amounts authorized under section 1118 of title 49, United States Code, there is authorized to be appropriated $3,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2024 through 2028, to remain available until expended, to increase the number of railroad, pipeline, and hazardous materials investigators within the National Transportation Safety Board.
