Mandating the Abolition of a Threat to Consumer Happiness Act

A BILL

To impose a hiring freeze and other limitations on the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, and other purposes.

Section 1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the “Mandating the Abolition of a Threat to Consumer Happiness Act” or the “MATCH Act”.

Sec. 2 Hiring freeze and other limitations

On or after the date of the enactment of this Act—
(1)
no individual may be appointed to any position within the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection;
(2)
no new position may be established at the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection;
(3)
no officer or employee of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection effective on the date of the enactment of this Act may be assigned any duties not assigned to that employee on that date; and
(4)
no officer or employee of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection may be transferred to a duty station other than the duty station applicable to such officer or employee effective the date of enactment of this Act.
