Recognizing the 50th anniversary of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act and the lasting impact of that Act on the State of Alaska and Alaska Native people.

recognizes December 18, 2021, as the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (43 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.) (referred to in this resolution as ANCSA);

commemorates the extensive achievements made by Alaska Native people through the implementation of ANCSA, while simultaneously maintaining their culture, traditions, and ways of life, during the 50-year period preceding the date of adoption of this resolution; and

celebrates the successes of Alaska Native people during that 50-year period, with optimism for the next 50 years and beyond.
