To address the history of discrimination against Black farmers and ranchers, to require reforms within the Department of Agriculture to prevent future discrimination, and for other purposes.

Section 1 Short title; table of contents

(a)

Short title— This Act may be cited as the “Justice for Black Farmers Act of 2021”.

(b)

Table of Contents— The table of contents for this Act is as follows:

Sec. 2 Definitions

In this Act:

(1)

Secretary— The term Secretary means the Secretary of Agriculture.

(2)

Socially disadvantaged farmer or rancher— The term socially disadvantaged farmer or rancher means a farmer or rancher who is a member of a socially disadvantaged group.

(3)

Socially disadvantaged group— The term socially disadvantaged group means a group whose members have been subjected to racial or ethnic prejudice because of their identity as members of a group without regard to their individual qualities.
