This Act may be cited as the “Developing Robust Investments in Vehicle Education for Roadway Safety Act” or the “DRIVERS Act”.
Developing Robust Investments in Vehicle Education for Roadway Safety Act
A BILL
To amend title 23, United States Code, to encourage affordable and accessible classroom-based driving instruction and behind-the-wheel training in highway safety programs, and for other purposes.
Sec. 2 Highway safety programs
Section 402(m)(2)(B)(x) of title 23, United States Code, is amended—
by striking “improve teen knowledge about”;
in subclause (I)—
by inserting “improve teen knowledge about” before “safe driving”; and
by striking “and” at the end;
in subclause (II)—
by inserting “prepare teens for” before “State graduated driving”;
by inserting “classroom-based driving instruction and” before “behind-the-wheel”; and
by striking the period at the end and inserting “; and”; and
by adding at the end the following:
“(III) provide programming for which affordability and accessibility are considered in its implementation.”
